Model Description

ACE Step is a novel open-source foundational model for music generation that overcomes key limitations of existing methods through its holistic architectural design. It combines diffusion-based generation with Sana's Deep Compressive Autoencoder (DCAE) and lightweight linear transformers, achieving exceptional performance in generation speed, musical coherence, and controllability.

Main Features:

  • 15 times faster than LLM-based baselines (takes 20 seconds to play 4 minutes of music on A100)
  • Exceptional musical coherence in melody, harmony, and rhythm
  • Full song generation, duration control, and acceptance of natural language descriptions
